LOUISIANA ARCHIVES
Over time, I have photographed New Orleans and the Mississippi River plantation corridor through the eyes of someone rooted there but living in New England. My image making gave me deeper feelings for this vulnerable lowland that faces ongoing challenges of culture and climate change. Across cities and towns, bayous and sugar cane fields the landscape holds a living history of centuries of cultural mixing, improvisation and resilience written in the visual language of color and form, descriptive detail, and daily life.
